Statewide health emergency: COVID-19 Update #2

Alert6

Stuart, FL - This morning Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recommended “local municipalities and private entities to strongly consider limiting or postponing mass gatherings in the state of Florida” in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Currently Martin County has no suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the county. The City of Stuart is offering organizations who elect to cancel their events a full refund of permit fee costs through March 31st, 2020.

For more information on this or to contact the special events division to cancel an event, please call 772-286-2844 or visit: https://www.cityofstuart.us/250/Special-Events-Permitting.

Additionally, the East Stuart Youth Initiative afterschool program at the 10th Street Community Center will commence as usual on Monday, March 16, 2020.

The City of Stuart continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in Florida and we are working with our countywide partners on emergency response in the event of a local health emergency. Changes to any services or programs offered by the City will be communicated as needed.

For any other questions related to COVID-19 in Florida, please contact the Florida Department of Health’s dedicated COVID-19 Call Center by calling 1-(866) 779-6121.
