City of Stuart 2020 Pavement Maintenance Project - Zone 2

Zone 2 Pavement Maintenance Project

Stuart, FL - Road maintenance work for Zone 2 of the City’s Annual Pavement Maintenance Project is scheduled to commence the week of Monday, February 10, 2020 and to be completed by May 1st, 2020 (weather permitting).

Each year, the City of Stuart inspects roadways and identifies those streets that require repair or reconstruction. Annual maintenance extends the life of our roads and helps us get the most out of our investment in infrastructure.

To facilitate coordination with other projects and minimize impacts to residents the City has adopted a zone-based system. As part of the Annual Pavement Maintenance Program the City of Stuart will be completing essential road repairs and restoration within Zone 2. This maintenance will include areas along SE Osceola Street and connecting neighborhood roads.

The work will consist of three components:

  1. Pavement point repairs (work will include excavation and asphalt restoration of a specific area).
  2. Milling/overlay (work consists of milling off/down the existing asphalt and replacing with new asphalt).
  3. Crack-sealing & Micro-surfacing (work consists of applying a polymer modified cold-mix paving system onto the existing pavement surface) and roadway re-striping as needed.

This will require intermediate lane shifts/closures. Streets within Zone 2 may be partially closed during posted working hours. However, the contractor is required to allow property owners access to driveways when it is safe and feasible.

For any questions or for additional information on this project, please contact Mr. Marc Rogolino, the City’s Capital Projects Coordinator at (772) 221-4700.
