City provides support for Bahamas relief aid

Stuart, FL – Following the catastrophic impacts to the northern Bahamas including the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama, the City of Stuart offered its public safety complex as a temporary collection point for emergency supplies.  The City has received an overwhelming response from the community and is currently loading donated supplies into trucks to deliver to American Custom Yachts for further transportation to the Bahamas in the near future. 

The public may also choose to donate at the following two locations after today:

  1. American Custom Yachts / Abaco Relief Alliance – 6800 SW Jack James Drive, Stuart, FL 34997. 
  2. Operation 300 at Witham Field – 1845 SE Airport Road, Stuart, FL 34996.

Clothes or toys are not needed at this time.  Items requested include:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Potable / Purified water
  • Batteries
  • Flashlights
  • Blankets
  • Cots
  • Toiletries
  • Baby food / Formula
  • Chain saws
  • Portable generators
  • Portable outdoor lamps / lights
  • Portable radios
  • First aid items
  • Cleaning supplies
