Water Conservation

The City of Stuart adopted a 20 Year Water Conservation Initiative in January 2008. The City of Stuart's drinking water supply comes from the Surficial Aquifer, a source of limited supply. Conservation has proven to be the most cost effective and quickest way to meet the South Florida Water Management District's (SFWMD) permit requirements.

Stuart's Main Objectives for Water Conservation

  • Provide a reliable high quality product at a reasonable cost
  • Maximize the City's limited water supply
  • Provide a sustainable source of water for the City's future
  • Educate citizens through outreach programs
