Electronic e-mail

Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released to a public-records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact the City of Stuart by phone or in writing.


Privacy Policy

The City of Stuart honors and respects your privacy and security. For your protection, we will not collect any personal information from you during a visit to our website, unless you voluntarily provide us with it. For the purposes of fraud or threat investigation, we may collect information about your domain and internet protocol address from which you access our website, but this will not identify your personal e-mail address. We may also collect statistical information about your web browser software version, date and time visited, as well as which pages you visit.

The State of Florida has very liberal laws regarding Public Records inspection and copying availability. If you choose to communicate with the City of Stuart via electronic mail, regarding public business, your e-mail address and the content of your message will become Public Records and will be saved for the appropriate retention period and may be requested by anyone for viewing during that time.

Any financial transactions conducted on our e-government pages are transmitted over SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. Browser cookies are saved only for settings and to pass information from one screen to the next. No credit card information is retained.

The City of Stuart has taken reasonable precautions to protect your privacy. Users of the City's website should understand that no security is completely foolproof and the City makes no guarantee against hacking or piracy.


Refund Policy

Overpayment of utility accounts will be retained as a credit balance and applied toward future charges unless a refund is specifically requested of the Director of Financial Services.

Overpayment of permit fees, inspection fees, false alarm response fines, code enforcement fines, or local business taxes will be refunded by request made of the Development Director.
